Hydrogels are gaining increasing interest as biomaterials for tissue regeneration. For applications in bone tissue regeneration, mineralization of hydrogels with an inorganic phase is considered desirable. This talk will deal with approaches to generate an inorganic phase in hydrogels and the physicochemical and biological significance of mineralization.
