PŘEDNÁŠKA "Efficiency of stimulus encoding"

Coding of sensory stimuli in the brain is far from being fully understood. Convenient model animals to study this problem are moths, since male moths are remarkably efficient in  locating their female counterparts by tracking highly fluctuating pheromone plumes. The role of olfactory receptor neurons in the stimulus encoding and the adaptation to the changeable environment will be the main topic of the talk.
