PŘEDNÁŠKA "The Dicer - one gene two phenotypes"

The Dicer protein is a key enzyme in the biogenesis of microRNAs.Delection of the Dicer gene causes lack of all microRNAs that regulate translation of hundreds of target mRNAs. Conditional knock-out od the Dicer in forebrain neurons of adult mice causes enhanced memory.Additionally these mice developed Arc nucleus dependent hyperphagic obesity.

This phenotype is related to the accumulation of fat tissue due to the period of increased food intake of normal chow diet.
