LECTURE "Are antiepileptic drugs safe for developing brain?"

Antiepileptic drugs are used to treat seizures in all age groups of patients including neonates and pregnant women. They target the same molecular mechanisms that are essential for normal brain development and detrimental effects of AEDs may be greater in the immature than in the mature brain.
