Central and peripheral modulation of vascular tone and sodium excretion: the role of brain and kidney in pathophysiology of hypertension


To determine in salt-sensitive and salt-resistant hypertension: a) the participation of renin-angiotensin system and sympathetic nervous system in the control of renal function, and b) central and peripheral action of angiotensin II on sympathetic vasoconstriction. To apply the experimental results in a further classification of human hypertension.
