Viktorie Vlachová, DSc.

Viktorie Vlachová was born 1958. She received her RNDr. degree in mathematical analysis from the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University, Prague in 1983, Ph.D. in biophysics from the Institute of Physiology, Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences, and D.Sc. degree in biological sciences from the 1st Faculty of Medicine, Charles University, Prague. Her postdoctoral work was as a Research Fellow at the Department of Cellular Neurophysiology, Institute of Physiology, Czech Academy of Sciences, Prague, a short term visiting fellow at the Department of Neurophysiology, Max Planck Institute for Psychiatry, Muenchen, Germany and at the Institute of Neurobiology, University of Puerto Rico, USA. She was an Elected Member of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Physiology, Elected Member of the Academy Council of the Czech Academy of Sciences. She was awarded the Prize of the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences and currently is a Vice-president of the Board of the Institute of Physiology CAS and Member of the Committee on Research, European Federation of IASP® Chapters.
