Ladislav Vyklický, M.D., DSc.

Ladislav Vyklický Jr. was born 1955. He received his M.D. degree from Charles University, Prague in 1981 and Ph.D. in physiology and pathophysiology from the Institute of Physiology, Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences. His postdoctoral work was as a Fogarty Visiting Fellow and Fogarty Visiting Scientist in the Laboratory of Developmental Neurobiology, National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, Maryland, USA (with Mark L. Mayer) and as a Visiting Scientist at the Max-Planck Institut für Zellphysiologie, Heidelberg, Germany (with Professor Bert Sakmann). He was awarded the Prize of the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences and currently is a member of The Scientific Board of the Institute of Physiology CAS, Vice President of the Czech Physiological Society, Elected member of the Constituent Assembly of the Czech Academy of Sciences and Supervisory Committee of the Constituent Assembly of the Czech Academy of Sciences. Since 1991 he is Head of the Department of Cellular Neurophysiology.
