Prof. Premysl Jiruska, M.D., Ph.D received the award Physician of the Year 2013. This award recognizes major contribution in medicine as a part of Jessenius prize. The expert committee awarded Dr. Jiruska for his contribution to epilepsy research. In his work, Dr. Jiruska and his colleagues are focusing on the understanding of the mechanisms how epilepsy and seizures develop and how to effectively prevent and treat this severe neurological disorder.
